Wiggle Worm

One morning I woke up and looked in on Sara and found her sleeping in a weird position. She is not a very heavy sleeper and loves to move around. This is how I put her in the crib:

Then she was like this:

And this is how I found her at the end:

SARA' S 4 MONTH CHECK-UP

Sara had her 4 month check-up on Tuesday the 2nd. She weighs 15 lb 8 oz and is 24 inches long. She is short and chubby:0 I guess she gets that from me:) She is in the 50 percentile for height and 90 percentile for weight. I had to fill out a questionnaire on how she is developing mentally and physically and she is doing great! She is on track on everything.

Here are some of the things she can do: -loves to play with her fingers, mostly put them in her mouth: -she recently found her toes and loves to hold on to them

-when we hold her up she stands on her feet really well -she gets really excited when she sees me or Chris -she smiles and giggles ALL the time, its great!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLESIA

My birthday was on Monday the 1st. I am officially a quarter of a century. Yikes. I didn't do anything exciting during the day. Since we just came home from a trip I had to do laundry and unpack. Then we had to go to a dentist appointment but after that we got to celebrate. My sweet husband took me out to dinner at Black Angus. We usually don't go anywhere that expensive but since it was my birthday we decided to splurge. We both had steaks and it was so good, the meat was perfect. Just thinking about it now makes my mouth water. Sara came with us because I wanted to celebrate with my whole family and she is a very important part of it. I had a chocolate ice cream cake that was yummy and got to blow out a candle.

Our First Earthquake!!!
Today we felt our first earthquake. It was a 5.1 earthquake in the Mojave dessert, but we only felt the after shock. It was really weird. I was sitting on the couch with Sara and Chris was in the bedroom talking with his brother. The next thing I knew was that I felt a little dizzy and I felt a little quake, I looked at our Christmas tree and it was shaking! I told Chris that we just had our first earthquake but he didn't believe me. Sometimes that man is really out of it! How can you not feel an earthquake? Yes it wasn't that strong but it was still there!!!!! When they announced it on TV he just said "oh I guess there was an earthquake" Um HELLO! That is what I said. I didn't make it up for the hay of it. You gotta love him.

Happy Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving we went to Chris's parents house in Gridley. The drive was the worst part of the trip. It took us 4 hours to get out of L.A. Sara slept the whole time so that was good. Then we stopped in Bakersfield to pick up Kenneth (Chris's brother). After that we stopped in Fresno to move Kenneths things in his old apartment from his garageKenneth moved recently from Fresno to Bakersfield), then off to Gridley. Sadly Sara was at the end of her ropes and was fussy, she was screaming the last 20 minutes of the drive. Overall it took us 13 hours to drive when it should of been at least 9.

Thanksgiving day was really nice. We ate, spent time with family and relaxed. Chris carved the turkey, and I think doing it for the first time he did a fantastic job. I arranged it nicely on the plate. I think we make a good team:)

Friday we went up to Chico. Oh how I missed Chico! I met my friend Zoya at the salon she works at so she could highlight my hair. Then in return I colored her hair. It was so exciting for me to do hair again! It was so much fun. Chris, Sara, Dorothy and Kenneth shopped while I was doing this. It was fun catching up with her.
On Saturday I had the privilege of doing Susan's hair (Chris's older sister). I cut her hair the night before and then colored it the next day. It took longer then I thought it would but to my defense, she has a lot of hair! I think it turned out good, I hope she likes it. Then I went up to Chico again to visit with our friends. I went up by my self because Chris was with his brothers at his grandparent house in Sutter. We met each other in the evening and went to dinner with his family and grandparents in Yuba City. When we came home it was time to pack. Oh and I cut Chris's, Kenneth's, and Kurt's hair after dinner:) I'm so glad I got to do my favorite things!

Before

After

I was not looking forward to the drive home. Oh boy were we in for a ride! We drove 3 hours and then got into traffic and then from then on it went down hill. There were a lot of accidents that we pasted. Sara did OK, we stopped almost every 2 to 3 hours so she got to get out a little but she did not want to get back in the carseat! It was slow getting to Fresno but it was even slower going home. I couldn't stand it anymore and just broke down and cried a little. The GPS didn't help me, it told us what time we would get home but the time kept changing to later and later and I just couldn't take it anymore. The traffic was horrible even before we got in the LA area. It was stop and go. When we finally got home (12 hours later) I was ecstatic! I walked in the apartment and it felt like our real home. We are not doing that drive ever again on holidays!!!!! I don't care what it cost but I would rather fly and that says a lot since I am terrified of flying.

Overall the trip was nice and we had a lot of fun seeing family and friends. Thanks Ken and Dorothy for having us!
