Richins Reunion at Sunset Beach California

Sunset State Beach, Ca We went to Sunset Beach State park last week for our family reunion. We had so much fun with everyone. We spent 4 days together and here are some of the things we did:

All the grand kids with Grandpa and Grandma Richins Me and Chris went to San Francisco for half a day Sara loves to play with her cousin Olivia. They took turns pushing each other in the stroller. Sara got so excited when she saw Olivia play with it one time, so she started to run to her. Well Olivia just bolted knowing that Sara wanted to play with the stroller. It was fun to see them play together. They did pretty well sharing. Olivia's Turn

We had a beach party for Emily's Birthday. The water was so cold! But it did not stop Sara wanting to play in it. She was shivering and turning blue but did not want to leave. Uncle Kenneth with Sara

Well this is a funny story. Chris was showing the kids a caterpillar. Knowing my daughter I told him to keep her away from the bug. Everyone was oohing and awing. Well Sara with a big grin on her face just totally stomped on it. I mean hard. All the kids were sad. Katie kept telling us over and over that Sara killed it with a really sad face. Oh boy that was something!

I was glad we got to sleep in our camper instead of in a tent because it was so cold! We did get sunshine but only for a couple of hours in the afternoon. I was very happy to be by the fire, but hated that I smelled like smoke. We had such a good time with everyone that everything else was not a big deal! We cant wait to see everyone again in 2 years. Hopefully we will see at least some of you before that!

Now tomorrow we are off to my family reunion in North Carolina. Hello warm ocean goodbye gloomy California!

Its been a while time to catch up

I know I havent updated in a while and a lot of things happened. Here are some of the things that have happend:

• March we went to my sister Susannah's wedding in Utah. It was so much fun to spend time with family. Chris and Sara were sick with a stomuch flu. I thought I was going to be lucky and not catch it but 2 days before we left it hit me and it was not fun. The one good thing about stomuch flu's is you loose weight. Which I did loose 7lb! I have gained some of it back but trying to loose more weight.

Family Time

We just love when our family comes to visit us! Kenneth, Amy and her roommate came to visit us. We had a lot of fun together. Amy was nice enough to us and let Chris and I go on a date. Which we haven't done since Susannah and Dave's wedding reception. We went to a dinner and a movie. We went to the cheap $3 theater and watched Date night. (which was a really funny movie). Here are some of the other things that we did:

We went to the beach and flew kites. We lost ribbons from one of the kites and it wouldn't stay up. So Chris and Kenneth got a bright idea. They attached Sara's toy sand shovel on the one ribbon it had. Well it payed off because then the kite stayed up in the air. Those boys sure are smart.

We also went to the Santa Barbara Zoo. We saw a snake shed its skin.

It was fascinating but also disgusting. Sara going back and forth. Loved to play with this door This lovely family was nice enough to share their pet food. Sara loved to feed the goat. She had the cutest laugh!

We are pleased to announce......

That we are first time home buyers! We moved into our cute house in April. We are having so much fun making it our own. So far this is what we have done:

• second weekend in our house and we put knobs in the kitchen. I just love how one simple thing can make a huge difference. I am in love with my new kitchen!
• we painted the garage floor and put shelves in so we have a more organized garage. So far we just did the shelves and no organizing.
• we are in the process of painting the whole house. We picked a natural color and decided it would be best if we paint everything the same color. I can't believe how big it changed the whole house. I love it!
• There are still things to do but we will take it slow.

• we bought a new kitchen table. sadly we had to exchange the table because it was defective. we should get a new one by next week.
