Sunny California

So lately I have been walking in the morning with my friend Liz. She lives in the same apartment building as we do and is in our ward. The weather here has been great! Last week it was in the 80's and this week in the 70's. I put Sara in the front stroller without the car seat so she can see things better now. She loves to look at all the new places we go. The sun has been in her eyes though and she doesn't like that. So I went to get her a hat at Kohl's and it was on clearance for $2.50! Good buy and its cute! I was so excited and she looks so cute in it and the sun doesn't bother her anymore. It has been a lot of fun walking with her, I hope the weather stays the same.

Daddy's Little Helper

Just wanted to share these cute pictures. Sara loves to spend time with her Dad. Chris was doing something on the computer and Sara jumped in to help. When she was done with helping Dad she decided it was time to help her self and started to chew on the keyboard. She is too cute.

Sara is 6 Months Old!

Wow I cant believe that Sara is 6 months old now. She is such a bundle of joy! She has grown so much. Here are some things she has learned and loves to do:
  • Chew/play with her hands and toes.
  • She rolled over for her dad but since then has yet to do it for me. (last Sunday was her first time) I am very sad.
  • She loves to babble. She will wake up in the middle of the night and will start talking. We give her a Binky but she takes it out so she can talk.
  • She can take her Binky out and puts it back in her mouth.
  • She loves to play pick-a-boo
  • She can sit by her self for a long period of time.
  • She will grab anything in reach and put it in her mouth.
  • She LOVES her Dad. She will give the biggest laughs to him!
  • She loves to play with her hair and to pull on mine.
  • She has discovered her ears.
  • She loves the swings at the park. And much more.
Sara makes the funniest faces! Here are some examples:

Sara's new discovery

Sara discovered she can stick out her tongue. Chris has been teaching her this for a very long time, so I knew it was coming. It made him feel so good that she can finaly do it. It was really fun to see them both. She doesnt do it that much anymore. Here are some pictures:

First trip to the Urgent Care Center

Sara hasn't been feeling so good lately. She is such a happy baby so when she has been fussing for 5 days straight and not sleeping very well I decided to call the doctor. I wanted to call the second day she was really fussy but didn't want to be "one of those moms" who call for everything. She has also been teething really bad lately. So I thought since she is teething that is why she is so fussy. The signs are the same as when they have an ear infection (not sleeping, fussy, tugging at her ears, etc) She didn't have a fever so I knew that is good and if she did then she really was sick.

So when I called the doctors office the nurse said just to make sure to go in and check it out. They didn't have any appointments open that day so we went to the Urgent Care Center which is in the same building as the doctors office. I called Chris and told him what was going on and asked him if he could come with me so I can have some support. He was a trooper.

The staff was really nice and we didn't have to wait more then 15 minutes. The doctor checked her out and told us she didn't have an ear infection. YAY. She is defiantly teething. So I was right but still felt bad that we went in for nothing. I am glad that we did go and it made me feel so much better knowing that she is teething instead of an ear infection. I hope here teeth come in soon so she wont be in so much pain.

Today we started our Baby and me class again. It is fun to go to them because I get to get out of the house, meet new people and learn new things. It was fun to see people from last semesters class and see how big their kids are now. I know it sounds funny but in 2 months kids grow and change really fast.
Today we felt our second earthquake. It was a 5.0 magnitude in San Bernardino. This time Chris felt it too. We were sitting on the couch, then it started to shake a little to the side and then we see our mirror on the wall swaying. It was probably less then 5 seconds, but to me it felt longer.

Sara loves the swings

We went to our Tuesdays play dates at the park today. I decided to put Sara on the swings for the very first time and she loved them! She had so much fun. She giggled the whole time. She is getting so big and so much fun. I will have to bring my camera next time and make a video, I just had my phone with me so I only took pictures.

Merry Christmas And A Happy New Year

Since I already posted the pictures I decided to write about the vacation we had, just so we can remember it better=) For Christmas we went to visit my family in Utah. My sister Susannah came from Paris and my other sister Katie and her family came from North Carolina. Our grandpa Bingham was there from Illinois, and it was a treat for us since we hadn't had seen him in a long time. It was very low key and very nice. Here is an outline of what we did:
*the kids went sledding in the back yard *had a surprise dinner for my dads 60th birthday. We all made a video of him for his birthday which we watched after the kids sang to Grandpa. Then had cake and ice cream. YUMMY! *Went to see a movie (first time for Sara and even though it was loud she slept through the whole movie!) *Went to Cafe Rio and California Pizza Kitchen (at different times:)) *Had a yummy dinner on Christmas eve. (Shrimp cocktail, Irish clam chowder, rolls, Cheese from France (sooo good), salad) *Opened gifts on Christmas. Sara was very interested in the gifts which was fun to watch. *Celebrated my Grandpa Barrus's birthday with yet another wonderful dinner. We had a "Thanksgiving" dinner because my sister Susannah requested it since she lives in Paris and missed the celebration:) *Visited with Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins
Sadly the week was over and we had to leave. But we did have one more stop to make before going home. We were really excited to see Mike, Colleen and Olivia! We went to Sacramento for Olivia's baby blessing. It was so much fun to see Olivia and Sara together. We cant wait to see them again.
Welcome 2009! The year of the Bull. For New Years we celebrated at home. I made dinner and snacks, and root beer floats. We were so tired that we almost went to bed early but decided to stay up and watch the ball drop. After it dropped we went to bed. I feel so old, sigh. We look forward to see what the new year has in store for us!
