Chris has been dying to go camping. Finally we had a weekend open so we took the opportunity and went. Lets just say we didn't go very far it was only 45 min away from home, but being 8 months pregnant I am not willing to go very far. We had a great time. Sara loved playing in the dirt. Nothing better than sitting by the fire!

Chris chopping some wood to get our fire going.
Lets just say I am not a fan of camping but with this wonderful camper that we own (thanks to Chris's Uncle and Aunt) I love camping! Waking up during the night to go to the bathroom when pregnant would get old if you had to leave this wonderful and warm camper that has a bathroom:)
Sara enjoying some time to herself. Reading some books
It was perfect!

Sara's First Talk in Primary

Today Sara gave her very first talk in Primary. Her topic was How Prophets teach us to choose the right. I was really worried that she would not want to talk but she did AWESOME! I am so proud of her. Uncle Kenneth was even there to cheer her on.

Sara's Favorite Food

NOTHING can come between Sara and her bacon! She loves, loves bacon and will eat as much as she can. Last week we went up North to see Chris's family and went out for breakfast. Well as you can imagine Sara had bacon. That night she wakes up screaming bloody murder! (Chris, Sara and I shared a bed) She is hysterical, what came over her I have no idea but she was screaming: "Daddy don't touch my BACON!" " Give back my BACON!" over and over. It took us a while to calm her down, with letting her know that she is dreaming and Chris telling her she can have bacon in the morning and he wont touch it. The whole house woke up to Sara's screams. It took me a good 5 minutes of calming her down and putting her back to sleep. It was sad but also so funny. We almost died laughing. You would think that we deprive her, and Chris had no intention of taking anything from her, why it was Chris we dont know. So now we know don't come between Sara and her bacon:)

*this is how I found Sara sleeping when I came to bed. Poor Chris looks like he is having a hard time breathing.

Starburst Cures All

Conversation tonight with Sara after dinner:
"Dad my stomach hurts. I need starburst to make it feel better."

That girl cracks us up! Too cute for her own good.

Uncle Kenneth and his girlfriend April came down from Bakersfield today to visit us. We had some time so we went to the pirate park, played at the beach, had some ice cream and pizza for dinner. We had a great time and cant wait for them to come back again!

Beach Day!

We had wonderful weather this week and we took advantage. Yesterday we went to a friends house and played in their back yard. Sara loved to play in the little pool and go down the slide. Today we got invited to go to the beach with them. Sara loved to play in the sand and water. They built some sand castles, chased some birds, and chased each other around. When it came time to go home Sara was not happy as always. I was hoping she would be tired enough to fall asleep on the way home but that was not on Sara's agenda. Still hoping she would fall asleep I laid down with her (I was ready for a nap) when I woke up she was downstairs watching cartoons and eating snacks. She is so independent! It really scares me sometimes. I'm glad I got a cat nap in:) Sadly I woke up with a little burning, which only means I got sunburned! Not to bad and still had a wonderful day! Thanks Janelle for hanging out with us for 2 days straight!
Trying to build sand castles

I am amazed even though the water was freezing she had no problem playing in the ocean!

Sara's First Dentist Appointment

Since Sara turned 3 it was time to get her first check up with the dentist. I was worried a little since we didn't know how she would react. Well she was a real trouper and did super awesome! She was so excited when it was finally her turn. Her teeth are looking good and no cavities! Yay!!!

Getting her x-rays. It was really cool to see her
permanent teeth on the top.

"Mom this tickles"

Sara got some fun stuff. New toothbrush, toothpaste, floss and the best part was the toy (My pets in a fun purse) and lots of stickers. She cant wait to go back!

Camping Out With Dad

Sara was begging Chris to go camping in a tent. We were not sure if she really knew or understood what that all in tales so we decided to do a trial run at home in the front room. Sara was so excited when dad was putting the tent together and was also excited about sleeping in a sleeping bag. Her excitement didn't last too long. When we turned off the lights she probably lasted 20 minutes. Chris on the other hand fell asleep fast. So Chris slept in the tent, Sara and I slept upstairs in our comfy bed. I wonder how it would go if they were outside and Sara couldn't walk upstairs to Mom. We shall see:)

A Childs Prayer

Tonight for dinner Sara wanted to say the dinner prayer. She never says it on her own just once in a while will repeat after us. Tonight she did it all on her own and it was so beautiful it made me teary eyed. It went something like this:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for food, thank you for mommy and daddy, thank you for the park, bless mommy and daddy, thank you for my nap, in Jesus Christ Amen.
Little children are so precious they remind us of how simple things are and how grateful we should be for the small things. It is so wonderful to see your child saying a prayer. On the hard days I will try to remember the small things like this and know at least I have taught her a very a important lesson such as prayer.

A Million Dollar Question

This is the conversation between Chris and Sara this evening:
S:Dad I want to go to the park.
C:Well I want a million dollars.
S:MOM! Give Daddy a million dollars.
Sara has become quite a smart little girl. I cannot believe she is 3 now! More posts to come on our birthday girl and our quick trip to Utah:)
